What are cookies?

Cookies are strings of text that websites visited by users (so-called Publishers, or "first parties") or different websites or web servers (so-called "third parties") place and store the data on the user's computer, so that they can be sent back to the same websites on the next visit. *

What are they used for?

Cookies are used for different purposes: carrying out computer authentication, session monitoring, storing information on specific configurations concerning users accessing the server, storing preferences, or to facilitate the use of online content, such as to keep track of items in a shopping basket or information for filling out a computer form, etc.; but they can also be used to profile the user, i.e. to "observe" his or her behaviour, for instance in order to send targeted advertising, measure the effectiveness of the advertising message and adopt relevant commercial strategies. In this case, we refer to profiling cookies. *

What are technical cookies?

These are cookies that are used to carry out navigation or to provide a service requested by the user. They are not used for any other purposes and are normally directly installed by the website user.

Without the use of these cookies, certain operations could not be carried out or would be more complex and/or less secure. *

Are analytical cookies technical cookies?

Analytical cookies can be considered similar to technical cookies if they are used for site optimisation purposes directly by the website owner, who may collect statistical information in aggregate form on the number of users and how they visit the site.

On the other hand, if the processing of such statistical analyses is entrusted to third parties, the users' data must be minimised in advance and may not be combined with other processing or passed on to other third parties. Under these conditions, the same rules on information and consent apply to analytics cookies as to technical cookies. *

What type of cookies does this site use?

This site makes use of third-party cookies for:

- Google Analytics (GA4)

Google Analytics is necessary to monitor visits and to obtain aggregate statistics on site activity. Remarketing with Google is a remarketing and behavioral targeting service provided by Google LLC or Google Ireland Limited, depending on the location of the site, which links the tracking activity performed by Google Analytics and its cookies with the Google Ads advertising network and the Doubleclick cookie.

In essence, Google assigns an ID to the browser of the website, stored in a cookie. This ID will then be required to personalise ads on the Google network and on all websites using Adsense.
