Walking

Different itineraries for keen walkers

from Mergozzo it is possible to follow several paths immersed in nature, such as the Sentiero Azzurro, which leads to the village of Montorfano along a mule track that runs along the lake.

A trail to follow in every season and within everyone's reach. Following the banks of the lake, parallel to the railway line, you start from Mergozzo to reach Montorfano. This was the ancient road of the "picasass", the stonemasons of Mergozzo, who walked it daily to reach the quarries on the other side of the mountain.

You can follow the path Sentiero Azzurro directly from our Residence, going up to Montorfano and eventually reaching Mergozzo.

A few steps from the Residence, behind the nearby train station, you can access the Cycle Path that extends throughout the area of the Nature Reserve of Fondo del Toce. The reserve can be visited on foot or by bicycle on the 3 main routes. The routes extend from Lake Maggiore to Lake Mergozzo, skirting the river Toce and offering very impressive views.

Other very enjoyable itineraries:

The Strada Cadorna di Montorfano, a historic path that can be walked in every season, which allows you to visit military artefacts of remarkable beauty and where you can admire support walls, stone canals and skilfully worked curbs starting from Prà Michelaccio_Mergozzo.

The Bracchio Ca'D'La Norma path, with an archaeological-environmental character, is easy and accessible to everyone and is also walkable in every season. Panoramic and architectural views of great beauty characterise the village of Bracchio. Ca’ D’La Norma is a megalithic complex dating back to the Copper and Bronze Ages.
